INTRODUCING THE FRAGMENTS PLATFORM

in #fragments6 years ago

In recent times micro-tasks services are usually closed and with limited expandability, and this makes integration of micro-tasks in other areas difficult. A lot of platforms have emerged to solve these problems, but these platforms provide little or no solutions for developers to extend them a d build new micro-task applications.

Fragments aims to enable micro-task services to expand by putting together an open platform built on blockchain, with incentives for developers who extend it, thus building a transparent platform that is easy to access and build upon for everyone, which also rewards developers who are able to create successful services on top of it. With Fragments, developers earn tokens by creating micro-tasks applications. Individuals and companies who want to outsource tasks, are connected to human workers (Annotators) who use the application to complete the tasks and earn tokens.

Fragments will be a mobile first decentralized platform which motivates developers to build future micro-task applications that are very useful today.

WHY FRAGMENTS?

  1. Fragments Platform aims to make barriers to entry lower for both annotators and individuals and thus increases the efficiency of the market by workforce optimization and decentralization.

  2. Fragments aims at creating a micro-task platform that is not only open and easily extensible, but actually incentivizes extensions by enabling developers to take a small revenue cut. If the apps developers build on the platform are used by other parties. Since the bare-bones fragments platform is free to use with no commissions, developers can offer their apps for public use and decide what commissions they charge for using them. The market then decides which particular app they want to use as this is solely their choice to make.

  3. Mobile UI/UX

With the help technology mobile phones are now used by many and this has helped internet connectivity spread all over the world, because of this reason, fragments aim strongly to support mobile app development. Fragments first extension module focuses on annotating data for AI, they will be concentrating on mobile and they will release mobile Software Development Kits (SDKs) that will make it easy for developers of applications to target mobile environments.

USERS OF FRAGMENTS

There are three (3) groups of users on the Fragments platform

  1. Developers - Who develop and distribute micro-task apps and take a commission on tasks completed through their apps.

  2. Requesters - Who need to have some tasks completed and run a task repository from a particular micro-task app

  3. Annotators - Who use annotators app from the responding micro-task app to communicate with requesters and then complete task and earn tokens.

Fragments takes care of the general micro-task related services, E.g advertising tasks, finding suitable annotators, registering completed tasks and handling payments, so that the micro-task app developers can concentrate on the core functionality only.

Fragments aims to have a platform with SDKs for a variety of programming different languages on the requesters side and variety of platforms on the annotators side, with a strong push for mobile annotator apps to create a flexible platform where annotators are able to comfortably complete tasks wherever they are.

TOKEN ECONOMY

The fragments token is ERC-20 Compatible and it's a utility token that can be used on the fragments platform for the following :

  1. Paying workers on the platform

  2. Paying commissions to micro-task app developers if their app is used.

  3. Enterprise edition support fees

  4. Earning tokens for hosting Task Repositories

  5. Staking mechanism for Task Repositories

CONCLUSION

Fragments hope to provide the following value for its users :

Developers - developers can use the fragments open ended designed platform to easily build and release them to the general public.

Requesters - With easy and ready to use micro-task apps on the fragments platform, Requesters can decide what micro-task app they want to use based on the value and commission they choose.

Annotators - Annotators can complete tasks on their device and pick a micro-task app which features interesting tasks and allows them to be efficient irrespective of where they are. They also receive payments in tokens that can be converted money or other cryptocurrencies.
