Rising Concerns and the Prominence Factor Surrounding Net Neutrality For Visio

The Internet May Have Some Interesting Growing Pains

Today it appears that in the USA we have lost the battle to keep net neutrality in place. While some may feel this isn't a major concern and for the most part at Visio it isn't due to our dev team at the moment residing in the EU, it still is a concerning factor for a lot of people and trust us the questions about such actions by governments has been asked a lot of us. We would like the public to know, the show still goes on no matter what twists and turns come about with governments and with what our project is trying to achieve. We feel its even more important now we build more decentralized systems in this work, because centralized versions seem to be getting more and more power as time progresses.

How Does Net Neutrality Effect Cryptocurrencies and Blockchain Technology?

One of the biggest issues with decisions on this Net Neutrality bill is more or less how ISPs will now handle cryptocurrency traffic in the USA. While most ISPs have claimed at this stage that this new empowerment they have been given will not change how the internet is run, we are all still concerned if this will end up a virus to spread through this community of decentralized projects.

Under the Open Internet Order, which was passed by the FCC in 2015, the commission has been given regulatory levers to ensure that ISPs like Comcast, Verizon and AT&T can’t violate the principles of net neutrality. The bright line rules that define net neutrality include no blocking of any legal content, no slowing or throttling internet connection speeds and no paid prioritization that offers preferential service to those who pay for it.

Without that common ground in ISP behavior, we are now kind of all at the whim of what they decide to do with this in their hands. Maybe its not going to effect anything but we at Visio firmly believe that in crypto we should all unite and make sure that decentralized systems can thrive and flourish no matter what one single country decides on how that decentralized world is deliever through some wires.

This is a time we hope to gain support from the crypto community. Many projects like ours, have stood in the face of the system to keep the passion and determination to development on blockchain systems maybe needed in this world. The people of this world are always a thin line from losing their individual rights and freedoms every day. This is always a concern for our team and why we have taken steps to ensure no matter what is ahead, we will keep building our decentralized and distributed content platform for the world. They may slow down how people can use the internet, or find a way to charge extra for common usage but if more decentralized systems blossom, its going to be hard to control or stop such a huge movement that every one wants and stands up for.

This decision is up in the air if it will end up hurting or helping cryptocurrency in the long run. We aren't hear to scare anyone nor to speculate. We just hope that people read this and pay attention to the growing changes happening in this world and work together to make sure we can keep going with crypto like we do in the present.

Justin Tabb, CEO and co-founder of the decentralized, open-sourced internet startup Substratum Network said it best today about what we maybe facing:

“ISPs could potentially have the power to control access to exchanges, the speed of transactions, and even create and prioritize accessibility to their own cryptocurrencies,” he warned, “which is not such a crazy idea when you think of all the places in this country where a single ISP has a monopoly.”

We hope this doesn't end up being the case but its never too late to prepare early!

Visio Is Still Coding So We Can Open Our Platform To a Bigger Decentralized Community

The good news for us, right now this is all minor politically driven stuff. ISPs more than likely know not to agitate the customer base they hold so more than likely if there will be any abuse of this new power, it won't happen over night. Visio though is all located as far as the development team in the EU, our marketer is based in the USA so right everything is still a go for our Windows release soon and we will get this decentralized platform into the hands of the public.

What we are doing with our project is exactly what we hoped it would be, an avenue to give content creators freedom from centralized controllers, and allow audiences to have no middle men telling them who or what they can watch or listen to. This issue popping up today just drives us to work faster and harder for the public, we feel we have a very solid option around potential abuses of power by central controllers so we will make sure that process of development does not stop here.

We would like to have your support through this and we as a team are always open to new friendships and discussion any day of the week. You can find us every day @ https://joinvisioslack.herokuapp.com

Remember sometimes crypto is not just about the money, its fun, its an amazing financial freedom maker for all of us but there is also a very underlying movement to fix a lot of the wrongs going on in this world. Blockchain technology is in some forms a very intense key to maybe the future of mankind if allowed to keep innovating and developing. We have to have our lines of communication though continuously free for all, so hopefully we can unite on this and make sure that stays as a common basic human right.

How is the visio community doing. Is the visio still under developement? Would be nice to know. Upvoted

We are still working, issue came up with some business related legalities that our developer is working through, we are waiting on word actually from him about it and then we should be great to move forward with some coming releases. Its nothing major, so it shouldn't be much longer. The community is still in there hanging by very supportive actually, we have a lot of great people thankfully being very understanding of this moment.

people in the states get the net neutrality issue we in Europe get another new law that should go active in +/- 18 months from now no more anonymous trading on exchanges https://www.reuters.com/article/uk-eu-moneylaundering/eu-agrees-clampdown-on-bitcoin-platforms-to-tackle-money-laundering-idUSKBN1E928M
