NET NEUTRALITY IS DEAD!!

Hi guys,

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) have voted to repeal net neutrality protections. These measures were intended to keep the internet open and fair. 

As of today (23/04/2018), the FCC has done away with rules barring internet providers from blocking or slowing down access to online content. The big winner from this reform is the telecom industry, while the losers are the tech industry and everyday customers.

This will not effect other countries directly, however it will have a flow on affect onto international businesses which rely on American customers. In addition, it is likely that many other countries will copy the American government and we will all have a comparatively slower more expensive internet.

This is a slippery slope which is destroying the best invention of our time. I wish I could be more positive on this one.
