Do we actually need to work in the office?

in #freelance6 years ago

Have you ever think about working from the beach resort, drink mohito and enjoy the ocean breezes?
Defining your own schedule and surfing in the morning and running in the evening near the ocean?

Of course yes!

And nowadays it becomes quite popular.
The only one question here:
"Why not everyone is doing that?".

The amount of freelacers is growing and I asked my freelancing colleagues and the main answer was Freedom!!! as well as possibility to spend more time with family, live in countries with warmer climate, etc.

But not only these ones...

As many of us working in big companies, we often see how many people working in your department doing nothing or are there only because of their relatives protection, etc.
I think freelance market will bring more efficiency to all fields, because we don't need to pay for offices, because our homes are offices.
We don't need to live somewhere because of our job, we can choose our lovely place to live!

Other benefits of freelance market is that you are not binded neither to the employer nor to the project, if you don't like something - you can switch in 2 weeks, you don't need to wait.

You can choose to work on new projects, or joined existing ones, contribute to open-source or enterprise.

You can choose how much you want to work and when.

You are going to be paid fairly, excluding charges on office rent, electricity bills and, in some countries, even taxes!

By doing this, a lot of resources can be released which will end up in salary and efficiency increase.

But you will ask me a fair question: "What can I do if I NEED to chait-chat to collegues and I love office atmosphere? The answer is: Coworking spaces! There many of them in almost every country, so just try them instead!

I am still the one who tries to pickup best of both worlds working daily in the office and freelancing by nights, but I cannot ignore that at some point of time benefits of freelancing can outplay stability in the office.

Let's see how it goes...

I recently read a news article about a marketing firm sending employees one week each year to Bali so that they work there during this week to get inspirations...

Brilliant!

Very nice trends right?) Because now employers understand even more that the real need for employees are not only money, but the way how they and on what they work!
