We fall for so little, such fragile things, such insignificant things in the grand scheme of things...
I hold power the likes this land has never seen. Legions of men marched with machine-like efficiency, conquering all who dared to oppose us, entire cities would fall to their knees to ask for mercy and bring all they held dear to try and sate our thirst for plunder.
Sometimes it worked, most of the time it didn´t....
For when you see a night sky lit up in fires, and the silence is broken by the screams of newly-minted widows and orphans, when you listen to the blades cutting the air until they meet the neck of those pitiful m-men, who couldn´t protect their loved one or their homes, when you listen to the trot of horses, to the clinging of mail on flesh and the screams of a million men with death in their eyes and daggers in their smiles how can you not want more! More! MORE!!!
Such fragile little things they are, all of them. Such fragile things they were, and they paid the price...
That went down a dark road!
Well done!
Thank you! Hey it can´t always be sunshine and rainbows ;)
