A Lesson From The Rich Fool
Proverbs 27:1
Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth. (KJV).
Boasting can be said to be a situation in which someone speaks of himself in a manner which is portrayed to be positive and very proud.
Luke 12:18
And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
Life is very Dynamic and it's outcome is determined by God. The intentions are of human heart, but the success thereof is of God.
The man in luke chapter 12:18-20, spoke so confidently about himself about his current achievements and the progress he intended to embark the next day, and attributing it to his ability and competence, excluding the help of God in his successes, he didn't live to tell the story.
Any time we speak of ourselves in boasting, we are simply telling God that He is not doing anything and as such, he will not share his glory with any man.
Every man has his own time and season, so as children of God, if you are in your own season, you should be thankful to God for all your bliss, and not brag about it and mocking the person who is not in his own bloom season.
One thing in particular about boasting is that it comes with mockery and mockery is one of the things that God detest.
Key Point
Be grateful to God always for all that you have achieved and gotten through praise and thanksgiving.
