Weekend Freewrite

If you want to do the full weekend freewrite and you haven’t done “The First Sentence” don’t read on, click here

Or if you want to do a single prompt freewrite, click here.

Now comes your dramatic twist - the conflict.

Prompt 3

the day Sheila brought Hilary to my office

  • Write the twist as the continuation of your story
  • Set timer for 5 minutes
  • Write
  • Use #weekendfreewrite and #freewrite
  • Publish your piece
  • Paste a link to your freewrite in the comment section of this post.

What do you think? Do you like this weekend freewrite challenge. It does go a bit deeper than the one word or one prompt freewrite. A bit more challenging. But so much fun!!

This week’s prompts are taken from The Writer’s Toolbox.

I am presenting a three-part prompt one of the weekend days (my weekend). I will try for Saturday since some of you are many hours ahead of me. But often, my Saturdays are very busy - then, it will be on my Sunday.

Hope you are having fun with this!!

Remember, drop the link to your completed three prompt freewrite under this post.

This sure was interesting. I love these weekend freewrites, as they bring out a far more complex story. Personally, I'd do one of these every day. But I'd also do the word prompt one.... :)

Here goes: https://steemit.com/freewrite/@honeydue/little-beasts-weekend-freewrite

Oh my God, I almost chocked when I got to the dramatic twist - how was I to bring in two new characters!?!
Anyway, here it is: https://steemit.com/freewrite/@marie-jay/runs-in-the-family-weekend-freewrite

Usually, I don't do the weekend freewrite, because I like to stay away from the computer at least on weekends! Until now, I entered only once in that challenge, but this is my second time:

Loving the freewrite as usual @mariannewest. Here is another fantasy fiction freewrite which nearly tripped me up on the 3rd and final prompt sentence. I managed to stay in genre by the skin of my teeth without changing the prompt sentence :-)

@snook you asked me to tag you in to any fantasy I wrote a while back so here we go. A weekend fantasy fiction short about a rather arrogant court wizard in my fantasy setting. This story is set in the same world as the last two I wrote. Hope you enjoy :-)

I love the weekend freewrites! I promise that I'm getting better - although I'm not sure that this tops last week. Here is my entry, Puppet Master.

@mariannewest, the weekend free write is a wonderful though challenging idea..thanks
