The artist sat in the back of the life drawing class and was told to draw from memory - an image that has etched into her mind. Something, anything...
She remembered many years ago; the car trip to the hospital that she thought would never end. Her friend was driving her because the "Dad" decided not to stay around and fill the role and she didn't care. She was alone, but she had her parents who cared and would help. She would make it - as long as she got to the hospital on time.
"Oh my God! The heads popping out!!! I can't keep it in!!"
"Don't you dare let all your mess spread all over the car Lisa! Just hold your legs shut! I can see the Emergency now."
They made it to the front door, then an emergency delivery took place as little one popped out and Lisa fainted.

Later, when she woke up, there was a little scrunchy face in the clear bassinette next to her.
Her friend was sitting in the seat next to her on the other side. "Rather cute for just delivered - don't you think? Most bubs are ugly post delivery! What are you going to call her?"
"Her? It's a her?"
"Yes you doof! You should have checked the sex beforehand so you could think of names. You fainted because the BP dropped too much with delivery. It hasn't been long. Just a few minutes. Little one is healthy. So back to the original question - what do you want to call her?"
She looked to her friend: "I think I'll call her Louise - after my friend who got her to the hospital on time..."
Her friend Louise smiled "That's nice!"
They looked at her. "She has a beautiful face, it's all I can see..."

Many years later, and Lisa sat and thought about that moment. She took her pencil and paper. She started to draw Little Louise.
After many years, first and foremost, she was and is a mother.
