5 minutes freewrite: The Homeless

Good day wonderful peeps and neighbours in the Steemit Community, today is day 222 of the 5 minute free write challenge, and I am happy to be joining the challenge again after a long break.

For those who have never participated in the challenge before, you are invited to join the challenge and here is the prompt for today's challenge.

John stood at the window of his office at the top floor of his 45storey office complex looking down on the busy city of Lagos, lost in thoughts.

Today he is one of the richest men in the city, and his Foundation has just been launched, a foundation set up for catering the homeless, it is his dream to house as many homeless as he can, because he can relate to their plight.

So many people don't know his story, he ran away from home because his uncle who became his guardian after his father's death was maltreating and abusing him.

John was homeless for about 11years of his life, sleeping under the Lagos bridge and sometimes in cars parked by the roadside or mechanic garages. Even in that condition he never gave up, he was doing menial jobs and supporting himself, paying his school fees because he was determined to become something in life.

Today he has become wealthy, one of the richest in Lagos, and he wants to help as many homeless as he can.
