Day 253: 5 Minute Freewrite initiated by @mariannewest. Friday-Prompt: grand piano

This is part 2 of my true story. Part 1 can be found here: https://steemit.com/freewrite/@whatisnew/day-252-5-minute-freewrite-thursday-prompt-talking-dog

Two years later, we heard about a puppy that was going to be put down if a home wasn't found right away, and that is when 7 week old Delilah came to live with us. She was a Rottweiler mix, full of energy and my son's shadow. She learned her commands and a few tricks, but I wasn't able to teach her to talk. However, Delilah sure could sing; especially when I played my grand piano.

Sampson and Delilah were inseparable, in more ways than one. Back in those days, you didn't get a dog "fixed" at 8 weeks old. For female dogs, you waited until after their first time in heat, before they were spayed. And a year prior, when it was time to get Sam neutered, my partner surprised me when he said, "There is no way we are going to take Sam's manhood away." We argued about this for a year until I finally gave in, even though I didn't agree with him.

To be continued...
