Vitamin D, The guardian of the strength of your body
The sun, our most valuable recourse of Vitamin D either cholecaferol. Which is great for a lot of indispensable functions of a healthy body! Within all the eras of evolution of living beings, vitamin D got a very important role in the functionality in our body. Vitamin D is not only a vitamin, but also a hormone. That means if you have a lack of it, it will reduce a big part of many functionality in your body such as the protection of your teeth and the strength of your bones.
Vitamin D is really playing hard to get. Next to the sun there are a few other little sources of vitamin D, but no matter how hard they try, they will never match the sun. People with a light skin will have a sufficiently amount of vitamin D with a 15-30 minute exposure to direct sunlight on the skin of the head and Chest. People with a darker skin will have a sufficiently amount of vitamin D with a 30-60 minute exposure to direct sunlight on the skin of the head and Chest. After the exposure, always put some sun milk on to prevent yourself from sunburning.
There are actually different kinds of Vitamin d
- Vitamin d1 (cholecaferol) This is the vitamin D that you will get from the sunlight.
- Vitamin d2 (ergocalciferol) This is the vitamin D that is being produced in several kinds of mushrooms.
- Vitamin d3 (cholecalciferol) This is the vitamin D is contained by the skin of animals and human beings.
- Synthetic vitamin D, This is the vitamin D that is being produced in the laboratory. This might be helpful In the seasons -with less sunlight.
However, the foods that contain vitamin D are mostly fatty fish. The foods that do contain vitamin D are listed below.
- Salmon
- Trout
- Mackerel
- A cooked egg
- Margarine/butter
- Semi-skimmed milk
