RE: SUPERFOOD SMOOTHIE SECRETS - FRUITS AND VEGGIES MONDAY

Yes. But there are alternatives. I don't miss sugar. But I do like sweet things. Give me cake over food any day! I use honey to sweeten, or even dates do the trick. I think you get the genuine maple syrup there. We get other natural plant based sweeteners like stevia but having our own hives I prefer honey

By the way, do yourself a favour and watch "That Sugar Film" made by and Australian company. It's a real eye opener.

yes I've done posts about the best available sugar replacements and I've been campaigning against sugar for years actually, even though I would go off the wagon quite often! lol.
but now we are more disciplined. dates and honey, especially raw honey like yours is so wonderful, just with those two you can almost totally replace sugar. right now Monk Fruit is our favorite.

You can replace sugar! I think if we couldn't replicate the junk with equally yummy healthy options it would be really hard. But I disagree with healthy tasting like medicine. Why punish yourself? What is Monk Fruit?

oh Monk Fruit is SO good and healthy. It's named because the Monk's have been using it for hundreds of years as a sweetner, maybe thousands, but anyway it's a little green gourd and they come from China.

It's just the best tasting that we've found, no aftertaste and very sweet, tastes like sugar but totally healthy. I don't think it's been available to the mass market place that long, we got ours from Walmart.com.

Sounds good. The only South African options are stevia, xylitol and sometimes coconut sugar. We can occasionally get things like maple syrup but I'd have to rob a bank to be able to afford it!

haha! yes Maple Syrup is crazy expensive even here. I take it there are no Maple trees in Africa?

No way! I wish. I think they need really really cold weather and we simply don't have the right climate

yes that's very true, we had lots of Maple Syrup farms in Northern Ohio where we lived, it was still expensive though. did you post today?

Hardly posted at all this week. About to though. A special #marketfriday with a very special destination. Israel!
