Traditions of the world
Iceland, Christmas book holiday
An excellent tradition in Iceland, in the world there are different traditions, which are quite so we say harmful or dangerous. But this tradition will surprise everyone.
Orange battle, Italy
If people of northern countries can play snowballs during Maslenitsa, the Italians have to improvise. During the Iberian carnival (Carnevale d'Ivrea), which begins on the weekend before the Great Lent, they arrange real orange fights. Perhaps someone will say that this is a vain translation of products, but the Italians are unlikely to agree with this.
Tomato, Spain
The holiday lasts 7 days and includes performances by musicians, dances, fair, fireworks and, of course, the battle with tomatoes. The very "tomato madness" lasts only an hour, which is very pleased owners of stores and those people whose duties include street washing.
