Looks like a thrill. I've had the good fortune to spend some time on Germany's autobahns for several days on two separate trips to the country. The first time I was driving a BMW 318d so it wasn't capable of hitting the speeds you did in the video. I believe it maxed out at 130 MPH. Later I had one of the mid-level turbodiesel Audi A6 models and managed to get up to about 143 MPH.

Diesel vehicles are great for autobahn cruising if they are the mid-to-higher powered models because you get the speed combined with great efficiency. The A6 I used returned 41 MPG on average including many kilometers spend at 100 MPH.

For any autobahn and German road newbies who might read this a great site to visit to learn about the rules of the road and signage is: http://www.gettingaroundgermany.info/autobahn.shtml

Do you spend a lot of time driving on the autobahn network? Ever drive other Audi models on it?

Actually I was the passenger on this ride. Love that speed though. Germans are very good drivers.
