Post #2 Fun/Interesting facts about Czech(O)Slovakia
Now when you know something about me, my life and my girlfriend. It's time to tell you more about our countries. As you can know from my first article I am from Czech Republic, Gabriela is from Slovakia and there are some interesting things about our countries you might not know.
Czech Republic
The biggest consumption of a beer per person. It's over 165 liters on one person/year. That's a pretty big number don't you think? (Believe me, I know what they are talking about)
Vladimir Remek was the 3rd man in a space and he was from Czech Republic.
When we talk about the Space. During the first landing on the moon, was playing Dvorak's Novosvetska Symphony.
We have the largest and most complex tourist network in the world. Many countries have copied that from us.
We invented words like Robot, Dollar or Pistol.
We have the 2nd and the 3rd oldest car factory in the world. They are Skoda(1895) and Tatra(1850) and they still exist.
Slovakia
Here they have 8 UNESCO monuments.
Next, they have over 300 castles in a preserved condition.
The man named Stefan Banic invented and used the first parachute
The Slovak language is the official language in another state. It is an are called Vojvodina in the north part of Serbia.
Andy Warhol, the designer of Campbell Soups Cans, had parents from Slovakia.
Prikra is a village and it has only 8 residents.
Over 40% of Slovakia is covered by forests.
