A piece of modern history...

...hiding in this piece of plaster I took out of my bedroom's ceiling:

The building is 43 years old so it's not a surprise I had to repair the ceiling (top floor hence exposed to humidity etc) but definitely there's a surprise in the above piece. Did you notice something weird on it's right end? Have a closer look:

Yes, that's a 43 years old piece of finished cigarette!

To be honest I'm impressed by the great shape it managed to keep drowned in that watery mixture of plaster back in the day. Undoubtedly funny in any case, effortlessly gives the picture of a bored to death worker who can't wait to finish his shift. Gave me a smiley moment in these tough days of repairs in between heatwaves :)
