Job. Such a short and sweet word. But trust me, there is nothing sweet OR short about it. We’ve all gone through the humdrum of a 9 to 5, where a minute seems like an hour. And then, there is the boss. If you get a boss that is even remotely an A-hole, god bless your soul!

Now, I’m not saying all jobs and all bosses are like that but you have to admit it happens fairly commonly. And while most people take the dignified way out by submitting a resignation letter or a two week’s notice, there are some who are a little bent in the mind and take it one step further. Well, actually a lot of steps further.

This post is to honour such brave men and women, who were simply unsatisfied with the idea of taking the high road and quit their soul-sucking jobs with a vengeance! Let’s take a look at some of the epic ways these people quit their jobs.

1. Quitting by Photoshopping

If you have the necessary photoshop skills, you might as well use them to let your boss know that you are no longer gonna be at his beck and call 24 X 7. This guy did just that. He photoshopped himself on a vacuum cleaner, flying out to space as if to signify that he is finally free. Good for you Tom! Fly Away!

2. By Making a Super Bowl Commercial

Sometimes telling a few people about quitting a job is not enough. So, you may do what Gwen Dean did. She quit her job at GoDaddy by telling about it to 100 million people watching the Super Bowl. Fortunately for her, her boss accepted her resignation with dignity.

3. By Making a Cake

This one is a little bitter sweet. Well, sweeter actually. Chris Holmes, made a cake for the management, telling them about his quitting the job and the reason behind it. I am sure the people in charge took it very well. After all, they were getting a free cake out of it! 

4. By Making A Customised Mario Game

Props to the guy for creativity. A programmer named, Jarrod Farbs, made and entire level of Mario just to tell his employers that he was quitting to pursue his dream of indie game development. You can actually play the game yourself here.

5. By Making An Error Message

You have to appreciate the creative mind behind this stunt. This designer was apparently so frustrated that he actually created an error message that appeared on his boss’ computer screen. The options he provides are just hilarious!

6. By Sending A Letter to “The New York Times”

Sending your resignation letter to your boss is too mainstream. So what do you do? Well, you follow the path that Greg Smith took, who quit his job at Goldman Sachs by sending his resignation letter to the New York Times. 

You might think that this was detrimental to his career but instead things worked out pretty well for him. He made millions of dollars from his book “Why I Left Goldman Sachs: A Wall Street Story”

7. On Live TV

You have to watch the video to appreciate the bad assery of this anchor who quit her job on Live TV! After she quits, the other anchor’s reaction is just priceless. The awkwardness is just uncanny!

8. By Quitting All At Once

There is power in unity. This entire team of Chipotle employees quit all at once, leaving a note for any customers to read. Read the note yourself to understand why they did it.

9. Parking a Car the Wrong Way

As far as I know, this happened in India. This personal driver was not paid his salary by his employer and so he parked the car in an impossible way. He had to be on the level of Vin Diesel to pull that off!

10. By Making a Viral Video

So, you might have seen this video on YouTube as it was super viral at one point. Marina Shifrin made a video for her boss and uploaded it to YouTube. The video garnered 19.7 million views before being taken down on “copyright grounds”.
