Techblogger Special - A Look at the State of Technology in 2017
In most of my articles I take a stand and look at a particular topic, sometimes its cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, OMG, EOS, ETH, Bitcoin Cash and various altcoins I think may have potential. Other articles have a focus on robotics, genetics, renewable energy or science.
The world is changing so rapidly these days that its getting extremely complex just to keep up with what is happening. Technological advancements that used to take decades are happening in mere months or sometimes even weeks. Artificial intelligence, virtual reality, self driving cars, genetic modifications in animals and in some cases humans?
Where is the world going and what is it going to look like in 20 years or in 50 years?
Who knows if it will be a place we would like to live or a place that causes us to look to the past to find a time when humanity had better circumstances than they do now.
Floating farms, brain wave passwords, and coffee-powered cars are just some of the incredible inventions and innovations that will shape our future.
Are we ready for coffee-powered cars and floating farms? Will people accept a new source of protein as their main dietary source, a protein from insects (cows are getting too costly...)?
The following link provides 22 ideas that are way ahead of their time but we may just see many of them in our very own lifetimes:

Flying cars, trips to other planetary bodies and genetically engineered superfoods are what we have to look forward to if we manage to hold the world together long enough to get there.
What are some of the biggest technological difficulties you see our planet facing in the next few years? Will technology play a huge role in fixing humanity's problems or will it make even more problems? Will it be our undoing?
I'd like your thoughts and ideas about this...

Hmm, this is something to think deep about. While we celebrate most of the new technologies, others pose challenges and some come with disadvantages. But one good thing about technology and innovation is that. It is ever evolving and keeping on solving problems. If any challenge comes up. There will be other inventions and technology aim at resolving it.
On the whole I see a future very bright with easy way of life.
I also believe that there is definitely a price to pay but surely it will be better.
Thanks for this thought provoking post.
Well for one, they will have to properly implement AI into systems/jobs etc they want it integrated into. Then there will be technology to make pretty much anything around the house easy to do through voice or remote activation.
There are many things to come very soon and while there are good and bad aspects to everything, curiosity of the human race is always going to see us further advancing as quickly as possible and we have to embrace it all.
I'm really looking forward to insects being the main source for our protein intake. So much so, that I once started my own insect farm a few years ago. It was incredible (unfortunately I had to shut it down because I moved to a place where I couldn't keep it anymore). It took very little effort to sustain, and when it came to funding I needed close to nothing to start the whole project. Farming insects is the food of the (perhaps near) future. It is incredibly efficient, insects are a type of super-food, they are ridiculously cheap, farming them is much more space-efficient that other livestock, and they are also very healthy. The only problem is that western cultures are disgusted by them, but luckily they can be prepared in a way that people don't have to see them when they eat them (just like we don't see the animal in the chicken breast when we consume it).
Have you already seen the iron man suit that's being developed?

I think I saw the first flight year or two back and it's already looking quite good. Maybe in 5 years it can be bought?
great job.
Solid post.

When you have been around as long as I have :-)
the cassette tape was great, but that new 8-track player! wow that was the "ducks-guts" !
Tech advancement of the last 20-40 years has been amazing.
Which leads me to the simple conclusion
"you Ain't seen 'nuffin yet!"
In 10 yrs 20 yrs, 50 yrs ??? ...... just go back & then extrapolate forwards.
I'm looking forward (assuming I'm around) to heli / drone ports on every tall building, Teleporting Holidays, Space low orbit "world view" holidays, and of course the "electro-rail" space launch system, followed soon after by .....
Don't get me started :-0
