How To Play

Would You Rather is a game that poses a situation in which a difficult choice has to be made between two alternatives. The questions always begin with "would you rather", and they are followed by two seemingly good options or two seemingly bad options. The individuals asked must choose one of the two alternatives. Answering "neither" or "both" is not an acceptable answer.

I grew up playing this game, and I thought it'd be fun to play with whoever happens to come across this. So, if you would like to play, please answer, and let me know why you chose your answer.

Would You Rather

Would you rather:

  1. Have a job that earns you one million dollars a year, but you must work 365 days a year for the next 5 years? Your job consists of sitting in an all white 10x10 room, with no windows and only one door. Other than yourself and your home-packed lunch, the only object in the room is a chair. No coworkers are allowed to enter this room, and you must leave all personal belongings outside of the room when you start your shift. You are to sit in your chair for the duration of your work day (8 hours). You can only leave to use the restroom, and other than sitting in your chair, the only activity you can perform within the room is eating the lunch you brought yourself.

  2. Or, you have your dream job, but you must work at this job for the rest of your life, and you can only ever earn minimum wage. You can choose your own hours, but you can only ever be paid for 40 hours a week. You cannot have another job or any additional source of income. Any money you receive outside of your work pay will vanish the moment you, your spouse, or your children receive it. If your spouse or children ever acquire a job, they cannot spend their money on you or anything you would ever partake in, such as a house, car, clothing, food or drink. For example, your spouse could buy a pizza if they were going to eat it on their own, but if you wanted to share the pizza, your spouse would be unable to purchase the pizza unless you paid your spouse the exact amount of money that your portion of the pizza costed.
