Awesome, I will give it a try tomorrow when the DisplayPort to HDMI cable arrives. Got a Oculus Rift for the boy - didn't realise the GTX1070 only has 1 HDMI and 3 DisplayPort so currently can only either have the Rift hooked up or disconnect it to see the pc desktop.

yes most cards i've seen only come with 1 hdmi port. have you tried using these little things?
Thank you very much, I ordered a DisplayPort cable with hdmi at the other end which arrived today thanks to amazon prime. Of course it was not as easy as plugging it in, zero display after multiple reboots. Ended up having to go back to the old cable hdmi hdmi, mess with a bunch of the bios settings in the B350 Tomahawk motherboard because UEFI boot for peripherals messes with it - and a few more reboots it works fine now!
