Season six of "Game of Thrones" delivered a shocking amount of revelations, along with the no frills action and heavy casualties fans have come to expect from the HBO series. The finale alone consisted of at least five major character deaths — some of which you probably didn't see coming.

There have been countless deaths across HBO's popular fantasy series. Which ones shocked fans the most? Tech Insider decided to rank the fatalities that shook the fandom the most.

These are the ones that, as a show viewer, really took us by surprise and made our jaws drop. Some of the deaths came early in unexpected ways, while others we may have seen coming but not necessarily in the way they played out on screen. With that in mind, we're ranking this list starting with the deaths we saw coming a mile away and are building up to the ones that left you emotionally rattled and devastated by an episode's conclusion.
