It’s not just a good time to be a PC gamer. It’s a great time.

The new high-performance Intel Core i9 family of CPUs and AMD Ryzen Threadripper CPU announced this week at Computex in Taiwan represent just the latest major investments in the thriving PC gaming ecosystem.

Esports events are filling stadiums — and offering prize pools on par with the world’s richest sporting events. Behind those headline-grabbing numbers: an eSports market that research firm NewZoo projects will grow more than 40 percent to $696 million this year.

That market, in turn, is propelled by great games. Overwatch has surpassed 30 million gamers, and Destiny 2 is coming to PC. Overall, the PC gaming software market will grow almost 140 percent over the course of a decade to more than $38 billion in 2020 from $16 billion in 2010, market research firm DFC Intelligence forecasts.

PC gaming hardware sales are growing, too. While analyst projections vary, leading analysts estimate gaming PC hardware sales will grow between 7 and 10 percent over the next few years.

It’s a virtuous cycle. Growing sales of PC gaming hardware, new PC games and the rousing success of eSports are sparking investments that will pay dividends for everyone in PC gaming.

New Intel Core, and AMD Ryzen CPUs Give Gamers More Options

AMD this week rolled out new, high-performance versions of its Ryzen processors. Ryzen’s new Threadripper CPUs for high-end desktops will offer as many as 16 cores and support for 32 threads.

Earlier this week, Intel introduced its new high-end, X-series processor family, featuring the new Intel Core i9 Extreme Edition Processor, with 18 cores and 36 threads.

We’re more than ready for the arrival of both.

NVIDIA Battlebox PC Program with GeForce GTX: Now with New CPUs

Our GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, introduced in February, owns the PC gaming performance crown.

It’s the flagship in a full lineup of GPUs we’ve introduced over the past year based on Pascal — the world’s most advanced gaming GPU architecture. Our Pascal GPUs represents an investment of several billion dollars, and provide the performance needed for gamers to enjoy more high-definition content and new kinds of VR experiences.

For gamers, it’s an exciting time. If you’re upgrading your PC, or buying new, there are now a wide selection of CPUs available from AMD and Intel to match any budget. They pair perfectly with our GeForce GTX 10-series GPUs and G-SYNC gaming monitors, which deliver the performance that have made the PC the premier gaming platform.

If buying new, you’ll be sure to find your perfect budget match in the NVIDIA Battlebox PC system builder program, which now includes the latest CPUs from AMD and Intel.

Battlebox Ultimate combines the power of a GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics card with the latest high-performance hardware to bring you an incredible experience — every time.

Battlebox Essential, equipped with a GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card, is the recommended rig for today’s top games like Overwatch and League of Legends, and delivers optimized 1080p gaming at 60fps.

If you’re upgrading, building or buying a gaming PC, a GeForce GTX 10-series GPU is a must-have for the best gaming experience.
