Surviving Mars really surprised me. In a positive sense. At best, I had expected a Tropico on Mars. However, I was quickly pleased to discover that the developers dare to do something new with their new game. The perpetual juggling with the scarce resources and the constantly increasing consumption of electricity, water and air in my colony kept me on my toes. Things never really ran smoothly everywhere. The permanent optimisation and improvement is a lot of fun. There is rarely a long period of idleness, which is often common in the genre.
