Epic Games: Data Mining?
IS Epic Games Launcher Stealing Data?
Posted on Reddit by user r/notte_m_portent. In which they get into a little detail on the subject. Essentially, Epic Games is taking data from your Steam account, encrypting it and then shadow sending it to Epic Games. Steam has come out and said that Epic is taking local user files, such as games that you own, login tokens and your friends list. Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney said this. He went on to say that Epic Games will take a look at how they collect the data to integrate Steams friends list and possibly change their ways.

I try to not give money to things that are not fully open . I guess it's hard because with video games almost all are closed.
