What is Rust?

It is pretty hard to define Rust, but you can say that it is a Massively multiplayer fps/role playing/survival game with sandbox elements.

Game's objective.

There are many things to do in Rust, but mainly the game is built around you gathering materials, building and expanding your base, getting more and more advanced weapons, raiding and fighting other people for their loot or just for personal reasons. This game has tons of social interaction, even though sometimes it can be awkward and weird.

Different play styles.

You can play the game as a solo player, with friends or in a massive clan. As a solo player you are pretty vulnerable against other players, since you are less likely to be better geared than them and you don't have anyone to watch your back. Also if you are a solo player, you can't get advanced weapons like guns as quickly, since you have to get everything on your own which is slower than working together with your group. You also need blue prints to be able to craft guns, and they are pretty hard to find, which is one of the reasons that I do not play solo.

Most people play in small groups, since it is way more fun, because you progress pretty quickly and it is way easier to get guns and raid other people's bases, since you can farm the necessary materials for explosives faster.

A lot of people also enjoy playing in clans, and being an unstoppable force together, since there is no chance for a group of 3 people to fight off 12, if they don't have an immense gear and positional advantage. Most clans usually fight and raid each other, which is extremely fun. Clans can also take on NPCs like the apache helicopter and the Bradley tank.

Some people just enjoy being a "naked"- a person with no gear. They usually just mess with people or have fun without building a base.

Others just play on role-playing servers, on which they pretend to be people from medieval times, like kings and such. This is definitely a fun way to play rust if you are not in it for the pvp.

My experience playing rust.

With over 1000 hours played, I can certainly say that I have had tons of fun, playing as a solo player, playing with friends and playing with huge clans. I can definitely say that this game is worth buying it you like pvp action and social interaction. There are of course flaws with the game, like not being able to one-shot people to the head with a lot of weapons, and being able to just eat a pumpkin to heal a flesh wound, but it is all out weighted by the fun you can have in rust. It is an amazing feeling getting back to the base after a fight or getting an air drop, which is why I can't stop recommending Rust enough.

If you want to start playing Rust, I suggest doing it with an experienced friend, or finding a noob group to play with.

This is a really good review- I may have to check this out. I tend to be mostly a solo player though, so it might be more of a pain.
