Gamers Are Spoiled
Hi people, Santiny here.
Let me start off by saying that I am very passionate about gaming and the gaming industry as a whole. I love talking about the technical aspects of how a game looks and feels and how it was achieved. It is interesting to see debacles in the gaming industry like with what we saw with Electronic Arts and how people got riled up because of corporate greed.
Personally, I am a Nintendo Switch owner. I am exited about the fact that not only am I getting Nintendo's 1st party exclusives, but I am also getting amazing 3rd party games like Doom 2016 and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. Of course, compromises had to be made to bring over Doom to the Switch. Doom on the Switch is is running at 30fps with a max resolution of 720p whereas on the PlayStation 4, it is running at 60fps at a 1080p resolution. Yes, it looks and feels better on Sony's hardware than it does on Nintendo's (insert fanboyism wars here).
Technology has advance so much that our standards have gone through the roof. We want everything to be 60fps and have a minimum 1080p resolution. Being a Nintendo fan growing up in the 90's, I never thought about frame rate issues or if the game had a high image quality. I didn't care if it was perfect as long as it was enjoyable.
Whether you are a power hungry hardware junky or the gimmicky motion control weirdo, always make sure to do one thing- have fun!
