Gold Rush - The Game

Become the king of the gold miners

Over the past few years, there have been many simulation games related to some very basic and realistic concepts. If you search on Google, the most successful games in the present decade include simulation games like the Euro Truck Simulator and the Sims franchise. No matter how many city-building or driving related simulation games are made, people are always hungry for more. This category of gaming is so wide that every now and then, we see a simulation game based on an entirely new concept. If you just think of it, you would realise that most of the professions around you have already been casted into a game. So, it's no surprise that we now have a game related to gold mining- the profession of mining out the thing over which countries have fought for, and have exterminated.

As soon as I read the name of this game, I realised that I have seen something like this before, and I wasn't wrong. The game seems like a popular TV show having the same name. The show consisted of gold miners from all over the country competing to attain the title of the best gold miner. The game looks like a carbon copy of that show, and thus it can cause a bit of excitement among the show's fans. The story of this game is like any other simulation game- You have to start from scratch, and keep on completing the targets to complete the game. You start as a wannabe gold miner, who uses basic equipments to dig his first gold nugget. With passing time , you will be able to buy better equipment and acquire new claims to dig through multiple gold claims simultaneously and become the richest man in Alaska.

As the developers have not revealed much about the game, I cannot really state much about the game's features. Yet, if I have to give a basic overview of the game, then I can say that the graphics is pretty good, but which game doesn't have good graphics these days. As the game is set in Alaska, the scenery is expected to be jaw dropping. The machines used in the game work and look realistic, and steering them would be a big challenge in the beginning. The game also boasts of four seasons cycle, and day night cycle. Even the four gold claims look too real. From the looks of it, we can say that the developers have tried to make this game as realistic as they can.

The game seems pretty fine, but is like any other simulation game. The main aim of this game is that the player can keep progressing at his own speed, and is not rushed through the missions. While this often helps the player to dictate his own game speed, it also causes him to lose interest due to lack of a real challenge. The game's pace keep on decreasing and once you reach pretty close to the end, you seem to be stuck in a kind of deadlock, from where progressing further may seem difficult. Usually this causes the person to lose interest in the game, and not many people are able to complete them. While the concept of gold mining is new in simulation games, I don't think that it has anything new to offer to the gamers, other than what usually happens in such games. For this sole reason, I think that the game would not be much successful, although it would be pretty popular among the TV show's fans. But still, as we know only a little bit about the game, there can be a few surprises at the time of release. For now, we can just hope the best for this game, and it's developers.
