Pokemon: Alook Into the Offensive Playstyle

Offense is the most used playstyle in Pokemon and again many different varieties. They mostly, of course, are centered around overwhelming the opponent with immense pressure. The teams that are centered around this playstyle varies and as such I will not be touching on every aspect of it such as bulky offense.  

The most notorious version of offense, or hyper offense, are rain teams. Typically they all consist of the same Pokemon; Pelipper, Mega Swampert, Kingdra/Ash Greninja, Tapu Koko, Hawlucha and Ferrothorn. With Pelipper setting the rain for Swampert and Greninja/Kingdra and Koko setting up for Hawlucha to sweep. Other forms of hyper offense are sticky webs teams and aurora veil teams.  

Sticky Web teams consist of, of course, a Sticky Web setter such as suicide lead Ribombee, Araquanid, Galvantula and the most used setter: Smeargle. Then Pokemon that benefits from the hazard such as Dragonite or Mega Heracross can use it to sweep. Though it is not used very often, it is still good in the current meta.  

Aurora veil teams consist of Alolan Ninetales setting up the veil and mainly Mega Tyranitar and other Pokemon that can deal with Scizor and Celesteela (such as Magnezone) to take advantage of the veil. Zygarde and Mega Tyranitar take advantage of the veil through setting up with their already bulky stats being boosted. Tyranitar is special with the sandstorm already increasing it's special defense allowing it to even survive a hydro pump from choice specs Ash Greninja.  

While I do know that there are many other versions of offense and hyper offense, I feel like I'd be dragging on the post if I were to talk about every detail of offense since it is so prevalent. I do hope that you enjoyed this analysis of some uses of the format though and I will continue to analyze the competitive scene of Pokemon in the future.
