Hidden Agenda Promises to Revolutionise Co-Op Gaming
Supermassive Games, the developer of Until Dawn and its spinoffs, is developing a new game called Hidden Agenda, which introduces a unique way of playing co-op.
Hidden Agenda is a crime thriller in which a district attorney and homicide detective question a serial killer. After killing his victims, the murderer plants traps with the intention of killing the first respondent to the scene. You can watch the trailer below.
The game itself sounds interesting and the visuals are pristine, but what’s most interesting about Hidden Agenda is the way it’s played.
PlayLink is a PlayStation feature developed by Sony, which allows players to use their phones whilst playing. Hidden Agenda is all about decision making, so up to four players will use their phones to force the direction of the narrative.
The new service also allows for players to team up or work for themselves: how they play is entirely up to them. No one knows what the other person’s agenda is, which puts an entirely different spin on the gaming experience.
In Hidden Agenda there are multiple different outcomes: no one can die, some people can die, or everyone in the game can die. How it plays out is dependent on who you’re playing with and how much you trust them.
PlayLink is set to release later this year.
