Review Of LittleBigPlanet 3 - Fun Multiplayer Game (Original Content)

Hey guys, today's featured game will be LittleBigPlanet 3! It's a side scrolling game that is fun to be played with friends.

It was released a few years ago and although it may not be the game of the year, it's more of a fun game to be played as a multiplayer game.

What is LittleBigPlanet 3?

It's basically a puzzle-solving game that relies a lot on your thinking skills. You basically play as Sackboy, a sack-looking puppet and you'll meet different characters in a game. For instance, OddSock is a dog character who runs faster than Sackboy and boy can he leap. Different skills may be needed in different areas for obvious reasons.

You're basically required to do a lot of running, jumping, grabbing, using interactive skills, defeat enemies and avoid dying. The villain in this game is Newton and he plans to unleash titans to the world to destroy the world. Sackboy and his group of heroes of course plan to save the world and you have to solve puzzles in doing so.

Without further ado, here are some of the interesting things in LittleBigPlanet 3.

1. It's a fun multiplayer game

LittleBigPlanet 3 was introduced to us by our friend, even before we bought a PS 4. It looked pretty weird to be honest and all of the characters were weird as well. The graphics were rather cartoonish but it turned out to be a pretty fun game!

In a multiplayer mode, teamwork was sometimes necessary to solve puzzles. It's funny because we could sabotage each other as the map moves. When one player goes forward and another stays back, the one staying back may be out of the map! He'll respawn again so no worries.

It's more fun in boss fights as you often forget who is who and end up dying! Imagine puppet-like creatures jumping around in a map! The story is quite short so perhaps you can finish the game in one day if you're good enough.

2. Creativity juices flow

Warning: This game may not be fun for the non-creative players.

There are so many occasions that you have to scratch your head to find the solution. For instance, one of the puzzles required us to build a car from scratch and race. We had to build so many times from the different choices given and had to consider the balance of the car together with the speed.

Sometimes if it's too fast, we overturn and lose the race. If it's too slow, we never get to catch up at all. Do we use cogs or tennis balls as our wheels? Or should we create a car made out of wheels even on top so that we could "roll" the entire way? We were given rocket boosters as well so we had to choose the best angle for it. The race map was pretty bouncy so even the boosters had to be timed properly.

There are so many different "tests" in the game so we can't possibly mention all. We even had areas of no gravity so we had to navigate properly and get certain items. You get the drift right?

3. Character Customization

If you don't like how your character looks, you can customize him! There may be hundreds of different costumes for you to choose from.

You can slowly customize it yourself. Choose the material, color, pattern and texture of the skin. You can even change its eyes, hair, moustache, mouth and so on. Even the torso, waist, legs and hands can be customized. It's not crucial how you customize it, as it doesn't affect the puzzles. It's for your own satisfaction.

4. It can be frustrating at times

Despite the good things about LittleBigPlanet 3, it has its own issues. As things get too creative sometimes, we (as dull people) get stuck in certain areas for a long, long time. Sometimes we just leave and play another game out of frustration. Perhaps the part where you create a car and race with it was hugely frustrating.

As you can create all kinds of items in the game, you may not know if it's what the game developer intended. What if it doesn't work as you intended and you spent hours on it? If you ever get stuck, YouTube should be a great place to start. You can perhaps find what you're looking for and how to solve certain levels.

Final verdict

LittleBigPlanet 3 can be a pretty fun game to play with your friends, like how we enjoyed it with our friends. It can get frustrating at times trying to solve the puzzles. If you really do get stuck, a Google or YouTube search should help you.
