VAR is a football association assistant referee that reassess decision made by the the central referee with the use of video replay.
In recent times there has been call for VAR review in football games as a result of decisions that seems to be bias and controversial by the head referee.   1. Penalty decisions

  3. Mistaken identity in awarding cards (yellow and red)
    Time intervals of making decisions
    It takes, on average, 30-40 seconds to reassess incidents. while the game is stopped. The VAR will look at all aspects leading up to a goal that might have been missed, including offside, any infraction by the attacking team in the build-up and the ball going out of play prior to goal.
