Mechs Vs Minions!!!

in #gaming7 years ago (edited)

Anyone who has ever played League Of Legends will instantly recognise the characters in Mechs vs Minions.
For those who have never played League Of Legends (There must be some out there somewhere!) It doesn't really matter as its irrelevant (As far as I have played MvM thus far, you will see what I mean in a bit!)

Mechs Vs Minions comes in the biggest box I have ever seen yet in a board game, Its heavier than Dead of Winter and even the "2-Man lift" Caverna. This may need a sack barrow to transport. I comes with hundreds of player models not flat cardboard cutouts on stands.

On with our game!

1st Mission - ShortFuse (Mistakes were made) playthrough.
We played a four player game and beat the minions. Straight away this was lots of fun. Its very easy to learn and very unique game mechanics. (I'll post a video detailing these at the end.) The "programming" and Damage Glitches led to some....er...interesting movements......As well as player screw-ups!

I played Heimerdinger!

The great mechanic in this game is the movement of players mechs via the "program" you build on your command line. Your mech will only do exactly what its told to do and you adjust the command with movement cards you acquire each turn.IMG_20170419_003328_861.jpg

However..... Take any damage and your mech receives random movements or "glitches" in the program causing it to go off in unforeseen directions doing unforeseen things!!!

But theres more....Each Mission comes in its own SEALED envelope and the game progresses blind admittedly this means the second time around you will be aware of whats coming up but only in the respect that you don't watch your favourite movie only once.

This is a Fantastic game and we had soooo much fun playing Missions 1 and 2. Mission 3 will be over the weekend.
No spoilers I promise!!IMG_20170419_004206_020.jpg

Any great games you know of please do let me know in the comments!!
Have Fun and HAPPY GAMING!!

I forgot I promised a clip of the rules so here is Rodney (The smiley-est man on youtube!) with a How-To-Play.

Oh nice! I want to play that now! What is the sweet spot in number of players?

I've only played with 4 but it has very little downtime as the action card selection phase is timed to 1 minute and failure to select means no card so it has a good turn around.
