Horror genre has never failed to attract interest from gamers, although the genre is not so striking. Sometimes, a more stressful playing experience is always successfully offered games of this genre at its best quality. The development of horror games from time to time also increasingly shows the ability of developers to present a more serious approach to the concept. Here we are talking about horror horror experiences. If you just see corpses and brutal action alone, games from any genre can also present it. But the ability of a game to make players feel frightened and tense, is an example of the true power of a horror game.

A few years ago, Bethesda along with Tango Gameworks released a horror game with Third person shooter gameplay titled The Evil Within. As if present as a savior, The Evil Within managed to provide a horror game experience that worked seriously as AAA game. Following the success of his first series, Bethesda re-released the latest sequel entitled The Evil Within 2. Storyline 

The Evil Within 2 is a direct sequel to the first series, where you still act as a detective named Sebastian Castellanos who is trying to save Lily Castellanos, his biological daughter, who is trapped in another world called Union. It was in this world that Sebastian had to return to face the nightmare of the strangeness of another world, where a series of monstrous monsters would be ready to kill him anytime. Characters from previous series such as Kidman, also re-appear in this game to give Sebastian information in helping him save Lily.

Gameplay

Carrying the concept of survival horror gameplay, The Evil Within 2 still presents a series of action-packed gameplay like the first series. Not much difference is offered in fact from the side of the gameplay itself, where you still get a series of weapons and other resources. Only, this game focuses on the more dominant element of survival. The series of monsters you face acts more aggressively and sensitively, not to mention resources such as bullets are not easy to obtain. So managing resources effectively, is the main thing you need to consider if you want to survive. You can also avoid the fight by passing the enemy secretly with a more refined stealth system features. It is also useful for saving resources such as bullets and syringes in preparation against tougher enemies.

Because it brings the survival horror game genre, surely you will be presented with a series of features that help strengthen the character you play. Like the previous series, The Evil Within 2 still uses some sort of green liquid (upgrade points) that can be used to improve some skills. Like when you settle for example, the sound produced will sound more slowly because of the skill point that has been upgraded. Not only the ability alone, but you can also strengthen the armament by using craft parts that can be found in various places. However, collecting the necessary materials is not an easy task, as you are likely to encounter a more menacing danger along the way.

Like most sequel games that have better graphics quality, The Evil Within 2 offers a more gripping and beautiful atmosphere at the same time. Various effects such as lighting, very well presented in the world. If at a glance, you may feel that The Evil Within 2 does not have a significant difference in terms of graphics. But if you look deeper, this game managed to offer a more gripping atmosphere horror atmosphere, through the consistent graphics quality and can blend perfectly with the world of Union.

Semi Open-World is More Challenging  

The biggest difference from The Evil Within 2 compared to the first series, maybe is the concept of gameplay that is no longer linear. The background of the world in this game has a lot of play space that can be explored more deeply. Although not focused on the design, but you will not feel in vain when exploring for resources, because the design of the world it offers has a variety of surprises on each side. Although there is still a linear impression felt, at least The Evil Within 2 managed to give a new concept approach that counted successfully. Through the efforts of Bethseda and Tango Gameworks in presenting a more explorable approach to gameplay concepts, The Evil Within 2 succeeded in offering a horror experience that is no less gripping than the first series.
