This may be the long-awaited news of FPS genre lovers over the past few years. How come? The success of COD 4: Modern Warfare in the past seemed to "wipe out" the chance to enjoy an FPS game with a classic war theme on the current generation platform. Developers are struggling to follow the same success by continuing to bring the timeline of this war forward, even touching the future sphere that begins to look like a sci-fi story. But fortunately, hope is not always gone. As previously rumored, DICE and EA are finally ready to take the opposite step with the main competitor - Call of Duty.
Through a streaming event that works with Microsoft, EA and DICE finally announced the latest series of Battlefield for the year 2016 - Battlefield 1. Approve some rumors that had circulated previously, Battlefield 1 will take the theme of the first world war! An inaugural trailer claimed to be taken from an in-game engine shows tension and war-ragingness with this classic equipment. Although it has not shown any obvious gameplay, DICE promises that Battlefield 1 will feel like a different Battlefield series compared to what you've known all along.
World War I is not just a theme, but also the foundation to build many new mechanics in the gameplay that deserves to be anticipated. DICE confirmed that there will be a range of vehicles that can be used, from tanks that can load and carry a squad of troops for extra mobility until the propeller aircraft is controlled by two crew at once. Multiplayer mode for up to 64 people will also be supported with better destructive effects, including entire buildings that can be destroyed. Campaign Mode will also continue to be offered by taking perspective from several troops around the world to build on existing stories.
Battlefield 1 itself is planned to be released on 21 October 2016 for the Playstation 4, Xbox One, and of course - PC. EA and DICE themselves promise to share more details, including the actual gameplay of this latest series, in the next few months. They will also offer an open beta later.
