Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Everything We Know
When I first learned that Nintendo was developing a new title in the Animal Crossing series, I was overjoyed. If you're like me, you've probably spent countless hours picking fruit, selling furniture, accumulating Bells, and avoiding the greedy gaze of Tom Nook. And now we can continue doing so in a new title called Animal Crossing: New Horizons - and indeed there are good things on the horizon for AC fans.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a title, developed for the Nintendo Switch platform and is to be released on March 20, 2020. Coincidentally, March 20, 2020 is also International Happiness Day - and what a happy day it's going to be. At the time of writing this, there are 47 days until the game is released to the public.
[Some]New Features of the game:
An Entirely New Crafting System. This simply ROCKS. Players can collect materials in order to source items such as furniture. Perhaps this will allow players to craft items without having to part with their hard-earned Bells at Nook's far-too-overpriced-store. It also looks like tools can be crafted and upgraded as you play the game - very neat.
Placing Items Outside. To those who have played this game since it's release on GameCube, we are finally going to be able to drop items such as furniture, outside. To-date, we were only able to drop tools and items which would only be placed as an infamous leaf. Now, in New Horizons, we will be able to fully place items outside. In addition to this, we are also going to be able to place down paths for us to walk on.
Pole Vaulting. A new system of transportation has been added to the game! Incredible. Instead of having to take the long way home (if you're smiling at that last jab, I know you're going to be excited) we will be able to pole-vault over streams in order move around the island with ease.
The Island. The setting for this game is the "Deserted Island". From humble beginnings in a modest tent, the player will craft and create, making this island his/her own.
The NookPhone. Animal Crossing see's the addition of technological advances in New Horizon. The player will now carry a NookPhone in order to manage what you've been working on, keep track of crafting recipes. In addition to these features, there will also be a rewards program that will reward the player for accomplishing tasks.
And of course, this game would not be Animal Crossing without the... animals! Nintendo has really worked hard to make them even more fun to interact with. Their eyes are no longer static and in terms of clothing - the game now features long sleeves.
Yet another feature that has long been dreamed of by Animal Crossing fans, is the ability to customize your character at any point in the game - and this includes hair. Gone are the days of strolling in to the barbershop in order to get a new style after being berated with dozens of peculiar questions.
I don't know about you, but I cannot wait for this game to be released.
Here is some additional information about the game:

I'm pretty impressing with this design. I think fans around the world would cherish owning a console like this.
