Tekken 6 for PSP - Game Review
Back in 1994, one of the best fighting games was released and it was called Tekken. It was designed to compete with other famous fighting games that time which was Street Fighter, Virtua Fighter etc.
Over the years, Tekken just kept on getting better and better and it is still one of the best fighting games around and a lot of major tournaments are happening each year. Tekken 3 was the first game that I played but during that time, there was no Youtube yet in the Philippines so I wasn't aware that tournaments are happening (and I was a kid back then).
When I started playing Tekken 5, that's when the internet was booming here and that's when I watched Tekken tournaments and then when Tekken 6 came, a lot of more tournaments became available in Youtube and that's when, I believe Tekken rose to total fame. Thank you Namco Bandai.
Story
Jin Kazama became the head of the Mishima Zaibatsu after beating his great grandfather Jinpachi Mishima in Tekken 5. He then declared independence and declared war against all nations 1 year after he became the head of the company which resulted in great civil war all over the world.
Kazuma Mishima, Jin's dad has then become the leader of G Corporation, the only company able to stand against the Jin and Mishima Zaibatsu. Kazuya offered a bounty on Jin's head to dethrone him.
Jin then opened the 6th King of Iron Fist Tournament to lure out Kazuya and at the same time sparking famous fighters from around the world into entering the tournament to defeat him.

Characters
One thing that Tekken 6 didn't provide unlike previous installments is unlocking other characters. As you can see, Tekken 6 has well about 40 characters from which all of them are available right from the start. No unlocking or finishing the game needed.
All 40 characters are diverse and each has their own unique style ranging from street fighting, boxing, kung fu, karate, wrestling and even capoeira.
Graphics
If Final Fantasy is to RPG, then Tekken is to fighting games in terms of graphics. All Tekken games ever since the beginning of the franchise till today has amazing graphics.
All characters are well crafted no matter which you choose, every move or attack they do has an equivalent frame before it hits the opponent or recover from the attack but of course, it's still nothing compared to the graphics of Tekken 6 on PS3.
The stages are superb too. No stage is the same, each has their own size and some stages even have breaking walls or multiple levels where a character can fall after a combo.
Music
Music in Tekken 6 is vast. From the intro that's like full of thrill and action to the calm sound of some stages, there's a lot to look forward to.
The sound effects though are quite simple and repetitive. Each time you block an attack, there's this metal like sound that clangs lol, wall and floor breaks doesn't sound too loud either to notice but it's okay since this is a fighting game.
Gameplay
The gameplay, as I can say is still similar from previous installments, there's a lot that has been added that makes this game unique from other Tekken games.
The stages became bigger, there are infinite and walled stages. Some walls are breakable and some stages are multi level where some floors break.
You can also customize characters and when a certain item has been bought, there's a special attack associated with that item like Lei's gun shot that hits airborne opponents.
The bound system is also added where in after doing an air combo to the opponent, you can hit them with a bound attack making them bound on the floor for a small amount of time thus making additional combos possible.
And finally the rage system, when a player's health bar is low, it flashes red and gives their character a reddish aura signifying rage mode and making attacks more stronger to deal greater damage.

Replay
There's really not much to offer in terms of replay about this game since it is a fighting games. It's still best for practice in case you want to play in the arcades too or play with friends.
The game modes are almost all identical, only difference is that the story mode unlocks ending scenes, arcade mode lets you play the arcade version and ghost battle lets you play as long as you want. There's gold rush mode for gaining money.
Overall
With a vast number of characters to choose from, new features in battle and tons of stages, Tekken 6 is one of the best fighting games for the PSP. It is a great game to get a hold of and surely worth your money.
