Zarnitsa (national student military-sports game "summer lightning") is a student military-sports game in Russia. Is a simulation of combat operations, similar to military exercises. During the game students are divided into teams and competed in various military-applied kinds of sports with game elements. The game was a part of the system of initial military training of schoolchildren and students in Russia.

The 2013 winter games of the Military Forces of Russia were held at about 70 degrees below zero in Siberia.
