Assassin’s Creed Origins will get an $800 Collector’s Edition!

in #gaming7 years ago

Most new games get a few different version of the game for salt, typically in the $60, $80 and around $100 brackets for the different versions, but Assassin’s Creed Origins takes it to a whole new level, selling the highest tier of Collector’s Edition package at $800!

The news of this package was found on the Ubisoft webstore, but it has since been removed, suggesting that they might not have had plans to announce it so early. Anyway, the pack will be called “Dawn of the Creed Legendary”, and it will include the following items:

  • A 28.8 inch statue of the Bayek and Senu (the main protagonist and his eagle).
  • Print of a full hand-drawn game world map.
  • A Collector’s Edition case.
  • A steelbook for the game.
  • The base game with all the included digital goods from the Digital Deluxe Pack and a Season Pass.
  • The official game soundtrack.
  • A game artbook.
  • A replica amulet of Sanu’s skull.
  • Four 15x11 inch lithographs. These are signed by Ubisoft Montreal artists.
  • A numbered certificate of authenticity.

Worth it?

And as stated in the title, the price tag will be $800. It will only be 999 copies of this version available for sale, and I bet it will actually be sold out before the release of the game. I feel pity for the artists who have to sign 4 x 999 cards for these packs though!

I’m absolutely not going to get this version, but I suppose it is really cool for collectors who have a lot of spare money to spend on game memorabilia.

Honestly i don't feel the pack is worth 800$. For me it's just a new way for taking money from the fan.

Sad how they proceed :/

Same! It shouldn't be any more than $150-$200, absolutely ridiculous, plus I hate how some AAA Studios pump out these 'different versions', a game should be built as it was to be played with no additional paid DLCs/paid content by the original studio at release (maybe a few months later perhaps).

I agree. This game already has 4 different versions, as well as pre-order bonuses. I'm not a big fan of this myself, but I bet people actually pay more for the better versions, or else they would not have bothered with all of this.

I completely agree! Definitely not worth paying an extra $700 to get the statue, an amulet and some signed lithographs.

But broooo, didn't you see it comes with the season pass!

Keep up with the great work!
