Predictions for the Nintendo event at E3 - happening later tonight

in #gaming7 years ago

In just a few hours, Nintendo will do its showcase event at E3, and I want to share my predictions for the show tonight. You can watch the stream live at YouTube, Twitch or even Facebook, but if you can't make it, be sure to follow me here on Steemit, and I will make an update post about it a bit after it has finished.

The Nintendo event is the last big event on the main stage of e# this year, so it is all finished for us after this. The last few days have given us a lot of cool information about the games we can expect to be playing in the next few years, and I love that there has been a lot of coverage and discussion here on Steemit. Anyway, let's get to the predictions!

Mario Odyssey

It is a pretty safe bet to predict that Nintendo will talk a lot about the upcoming Mario game for the Nintendo Switch, and we will probably learn a whole lot about it tonight. We’ve only seen very short bits of footage from the game so far, and hopefully they will go more into details about the game today.

I'm really excited, and this will be the first 3D Mario game with an open world since Super Mario Sunshine, which came out 15 years ago!

Splatoon 2

Splatoon 2 is set to be released in July 2017, so this is a very good opperturnity for Nintendo to show it off to a very large audience. We actually have a lot of information about the game already, but I expect a new trailer, as well as lots of talk about it.

Fire Emblem Switch

Fire Emblem Switch might not be ready to be showed off yet, but hopefully Nintendo has a trailer ready for us! The game won’t be released for at least another year, so don’t expect game footage, but a release trailer might await us.

DLC content for Breath of the Wild

Breath of the Wild has already had some info about the two planned DLC packs, but we will most likely get more information about them tonight.

A new Super Smash Bros. game

There is a lot of rumors about a new Smash game coming soonish, and tonight would be a great time to announce it. There is no solid evidence that points to a new Smash game, but maybe the rumors are not entirely made up? We will find out in a few hours!

Amiibo

I predict that Nintendo will spend some minutes to showcase upcoming amiibo figurines, because they tend to do this at most major events. I don’t really know if anyone are even excited for this, but I guess Nintendo makes a lot of money off them, so they better show them to the huge audience that is watching.
