AMD's new Vega Graphics card lineup

in #gaming7 years ago

On june 29, 2017 AMD released its two of the most awaited products - Ryzen Threadripper CPU lineup and RX VEGA GPU lineup. They were pretty sure that both of them would completely destroy the top companies in their own game.

Coming to RX VEGA lineup, AMD has built it from scratch. They built a new Pixel Engine, new Geometry Engine, Rapid packed math Engine and 8 GB of HBC Memory with bandwidth of 484 GB/s.

In short, AMD has started from scratch to include a lot of useful features to give their competitors a good competition. And they have prepared well enough to reach the top of the market.

They released the following cards:

  1. Vega 56 (Entry level) - 56 compute units, 399$
  2. Air-cooled Vega 64 (High End level) - 64 compute units, 499$
  3. Water-cooled Vega 64 (High End level) - 64 compute units, Unknown price

But there is a catch, the Graphics cards won't be sold separately. They will be sold as a pack consisting of 2 Games, 100$ off on Motherboard and 200$ off on Ultra-wide monitor.

This was particularly done so that the Cards are shipped only to Gamers rather than Bitcoin miners, this was a bold step taken by AMD to give preference to Gamers first.
