Hey everyone! Bill from Byyfor Gaming here, and welcome to the review of Sally Face Episode two. This episode was very exploration based. You spend a lot of time searching for paranormal activity in the apartment so that you can learn why the apartment is haunted.
Episode two: “The Wretched” begins with a dream that Sally Face is describing to Larry. This dream has been recurring since Sal had seen the body of the murdered woman from episode one. Sally blames the recurrence of this dream on the building trying to convince his friend Larry that it is haunted. Larry doesn’t think the building is haunted, but believes that he is plagued by a red-eyed demon.
Sal then tells Larry that he has seen this demon around the apartment building. He then enlists the help of his friend, Todd, to help him prove that this demon is connected to the other ghosts that reside in the building. Todd then creates a device for Sal that can help him make contact with the apparitions in the building. Sal uses this invention to prove to Larry that the building is haunted.
Through his exploration, and with the help of Todd’s device, Sal is able to get information from the other ghosts. He learns a secret cult has been operating on the grounds of the apartment, though the motives of the cult are not yet known. Todd then discovers that the murders had been committed by the cult were covered up by local authorities, including the one that Sal helped solve in episode one. Sal continues his exploration of the apartment and runs into the red-eyed demon. Before the demon can harm Sal, Larry destroys it with another device created by their friend, Todd. The screen fades, and now, we see Sal in the therapist’s office again. The Therapist decides to explore Larry’s old treehouse on Sal’s recommendation. He is confronted by the ghost of Larry, who tells him that Sal needs to be released from jail. In fear and disbelief the therapist backs away and falls through the open hatch of the tree house, dying instantly.
This episode was very interesting. The main focus of this episode was learning about the ghosts through the use of a gaming device called “The Super Gear Boy” that was modified by Todd to pick up supernatural activity.
It definitely required much more thorough searching and exploration to discover the stories of all the ghosts in the hotel. Though the minigames that tell the ghosts’ stories can be a bit tedious, the information it gives you helps solidify the ghostly characters you encounter. It makes them seem much more real when their backstories are revealed. Sally Face episode one can be purchased on Steam for $2.99. Episodes 2-5 can be purchased for $11.99. Episodes 4 and 5 have yet to be released. Purchasing the bundle will pre order them.
