There is something very satisfying about growing your own food. When things go right it is worth sharing and celebrating! Feeling proud of this one!! Needed to capture it before chopping it up for dinner.
That it is elephant garlic is our best guess. It is actually a mystery crop this year. I will have to look back and see if I have written about it yet. I am pleased. It's hard to keep one for replanting and experimenting... I want to eat them all... Luckily I have a fairly good harvest of normal sized garlic too.
Growing garlic is very satisfying. Back home in Wisconsin the farm I worked for filled half a tobacco barn ever year with slats hanging full of drying garlic. YUM!!!
