Our logo! What do you think?

in #garden8 years ago

We have had so much exciting news as we are kicking things off right now.

First, we received our grant check from The Pollination Project.  Without this generous grant from The Pollination Project, none of this would be available.  We strongly encourage you to check out The Pollination Project and see the great work that grantees have accomplished.  We pray that we can do as much good as others have.  Please visit The Pollination Project's website at http://thepollinationproject.org

Second, we received our logo designs back and had eight choices to pick from.  There were some really great choices, but the logo you see on our website is the one we chose.  We are thrilled with the way it came out - please contact us if we can help provide a referral for logo services.  It was much more economical than we imagined, and it only took about 24 hours to get the final product.  You can't beat that!  What do you think?

So, where are we going from here?  Now that we have received our grant check from The Pollination Project, we can begin purchasing some of the things that we need to start our worm farm.  Anyone who has used worms for composting, also called vermicomposting, knows that you don't get great worm castings and compost overnight.  It will take some time and patience to achieve our goals that we have set with The Pollination Project and for ourselves personally.  We will talk more about our project goals and how this ties into our involvement with The Pollination Project in upcoming blog posts. Stay tuned!

Logo looks good for me. But if you're planning on going really professional I'd consider using another hoster for your homepage. For me advertising for a homepage kit on a site always looks a little unprofessional.

Thanks @vandaze. I greatly appreciate the feedback. We are starting up due to a small, environmentally-focused grant we received. Our budget is very small. Removing the Wix branding from the website is part of our future plans.

Depending on how much you do know about creating websites/html/javascript or how much time you are willing to invest you might want to look for a CMS like Joomla, Typo3 or Wordpress and invest small buck for a template there. Need's a little more time investment but even big players use typo3 for example.

its fun, cute and sends the message clearly. congrats. A little bit of advice (being in the field), you might want to ask your designer for a one colour or two colour rendition of the logo, as when it comes to printing promo material - full col goods can become costly.

All the best to you on your venture x :)

Thank you @jaynie. We do have a few other logo designs that we own the rights to that only have two colors on them. Great advice! I know what you're saying about the printing costs, it does get expensive.

pleasure :) good that you have those options available to you! :)
