Garden Update and Turkeys!
A couple months ago we decided to get creative with our garden. We took an old kid pool and mixed our sandy soil with some clay and compost and planted everything in there. It's really been amazing how much better this works in our sandy area.
So we picked up that smaller one and put another tomato and cucumber in it. We will also be planting some lettuce or spinach in there soon.
Here's an update on my peaches and avocado
Peaches are doing nice. The shorter one had a bunch of branches, so I trimmed those to promote more vertical growth. | The avocado is doing great! Nice and tall, and just started branching at the top. I think it's a good size for that now. |

Also, we acquired a bunch of turkeys! Mom turkey there just wandered into our yard one day last winter and has stayed here since. The chicks came from someone who was chopping down a tree and found an unguarded nest of turkey eggs! He knew we had a turkey and gave them to us. It worked out great too because our turkey was being broody and was already sitting on some of her eggs (and a couple chicken eggs, so one or two of those might be chickens. shh!), so we added them to her collection. Well, they were all about to hatch so two days later we have 10 or so new chicks.
I'll update again when all my produce starts coming in. Can't wait!
