Our ninety day cucumber crop.
Variety : Beit Alpha, this is seedless.
Name : Proximus
Crop area : 4000 square feet
Harvest : 3414 pounds
Container : 6 liters
3 or 4 plants should be more than enough for a family.

A nethouse was made to prevent pollination, so that the cucumbers could be seedless.

The seeds were first germinated in 4 inch pots. Germination was 95% plus.

Transplanting was done on the 15th day.

All flowers buds and lateral branches were pinched till the 6th node to promote vegetative growth. The slipper is for good luck.

Imgur

The lateral branches were pinched out so as to maintain a balance between vegetative growth and flowering. The vine was supported by a hanging twine.

The growth is very fast.

This is about 45 days from seeding.

As harvesting progressed, we cut off the leaves from the bottom leaving the one below the developing fruits and the ones above.

Wow amazing!

How's the pests with a big mono crop like that?

I grow cucumbers :) Is it normal for some of the original leaves start to turning yellow but the rest of the plant is healthy looking? Maybe need to water more or more chelated iron? This is happening with all my vine plants squash etc...

Thanks. Since it was in a net house, there were no pests. It's normal for the older leaves to turn yellow. The growing part should be healthy.

Very cool. Great looking nethouse and setup! I assume you are using drip irrigation because I see the drip lines. How much water? Looks like you have water nearby, do you use a well? Can you talk about your soil and fertilizing?

Yes. We use drip irrigation, not to save water, but to fertilize. Fortunately, there is an abundance of water. We use cocopeat and sand 50:50. For fertilizing - NPK 20 20 20 @ 700 gms per 1000 liter for 4 days. Magnesium sulphate 1 GM per liter, for 1 day, Calcium nitrate 1 GM per liter for 1 day and plain water for the remaining day of the week. If you are a home grower cocopeat and vermicompost 50:50 will work fine. You wouldn't need to irrigate it with additional fertilizer.
