Your dad sounds a lot like mine. A few weeks back, I called and asked him and my step mom to lunch because I was going to the ReStore down near where they live. Of course Daddy decided he go with me to ReStore after lunch and before I knew it, he had found everything I needed (except the odds and ends stuff like glue, paint and little plumbing stuff). A 5 foot stand up shower with surround, medicine cabinet and vanity with sink (all brand new) for just $300.
Next day, instead of just delivering to my house so my brother and I could do the work, he jumps right in and starts tearing everything out of my bathroom. He came back (40 mile drive) every day till the job was finished, lol.
Thing is, he's 84 and has retired 3 times already. The longest retirement last a whole month before he round something else to do, lol.
Gotta love these retired old guys! I'm not sure how much longer my dad will be retired. It's been less than a year, and it looks like he is going to do a start up company with a friend!
Until then, maybe I can get him to take it easy and teach my kids how to fish or something :D
