The last of the Garlic Scapes!
That crunchy and spicy flavor of garlic scapes is irresistible! Only here for a short couple of weeks, we enjoy them while we can.
This is the last batch of scapes (young flower pods before they develop) that we will be harvesting off of our German White Hardneck garlic this year.
We do this to size up the bulb for its finally couple weeks of growth before harvest. It then sends all its energy into the bulb to help size it up. Plus, you get an awesome treat with the scapes! Excelent fresh, made into pesto or sautéed in oil or butter. Yum!
The latest batch going to market this weeknd!
Neat. In my garden, I enjoy growing a few different kinds of onions (green & red), several types of TOMATOES (love that Lycopene for its Antioxidants), a Few H-O-T Peppers (Habanero & Jalapeno) - and also Thyme, Chives and corn.
Cheers. Enjoy the sunshine.
Oh, I nearly omitted my favorite - growing BASIL, so I can create different PESTO'S !
