Today's Sustainable Feast in the Garden of Eden
It is a fantastic day in the Garden of Eden, and we are giving thanks for more than enough of everything in this abundant life of freedom!
We made a delicious feast for our full time volunteers on our indoor wood burning stove rather than on the rocket stoves of our sustainable outdoor kitchen. We stayed nice and toasty, had a fantastic meal, AND heated water for showers for super sustainable efficiency. As usual, there was more than enough food for everyone, and we are happy to share our abundance with you!
We made total dankness today!
Our feast featured a garden salad, salmon omelettes, turkey burgers, grilled cheese sandwiches, sautéed Brussels sprouts with onions and mushrooms, and creamy potato salad!
For our bright garden salad, we started with a bed of iron-rich spinach! Then we topped it with sliced peppers, carrots, and slivered almonds. We make salads every day, but no two are ever exactly alike! Between our huge selection of veggies and the infinite combinations of sauces, dressings, oils, homemade vinegars, and sprinklicious toppings like nuts, seeds, dried fruits, and cheeses, we can fully customize our salads every day!
We made a fancy omelette filled with salmon, green onions, sliced tomatoes, and creamy goat cheese.
The children wanted grilled cheese sandwiches, and we have plenty of food so we obliged them! We buttered up some whole wheat bread, topped it with muenster and Swiss cheeses, and pan fried it to a delicious, crunchy golden brown. Then we sliced it into fun triangles!
We reheated our leftover turkey burgers from an earlier feast this week to give our meat eaters plenty of options. Using leftovers is one of the keys to super sustainable feasts and how we eliminate food waste.
We made one of our favorite simple side dishes - Brussels sprouts! These mini "cabbages" are related to broccoli, cauliflower, kale, and of course cabbage, and they have tons of flavor and high nutritional content. We simple sautéed them with onions, mushrooms, and some greens we had hanging out in the fridge.
We had lots of boiled potatoes left over from yesterday's fancy feast, so today we jazzed them up into potato salad! We'll share the mouthgasmic formula for this leftover makeover tomorrow.
Another epic sustainable feast in the books! Thanks for sharing it with us today 🖤
Food is important, and we hope to inspire people to really take time to eat, enjoy it, and share it with someone you love. We also hope to inspire more and more sustainable practices in regards to food!
We do all of our cooking over fire, using wood that was otherwise destined to end up in a landfill! This is our indoor wood burning stove in action - it cooks our food, warms our communal space, and heats water for hot showers all at the same time!

I love how they look like those turkey burgers and the grilled cheese sandwiches, I really like to see the photos I would like to be there with you to enjoy those majestic dishes. They shine with every sustainable party in the garden of the eden because they prepare every day pure exquisite meals that look very perfect, besides that they prepare them in their rocket stoves and that makes them more unique and incomparable.
