Should the driving age be raised to twenty-one?
In today's world, driving is an important skill to achieve, well as least in most countries. Driving is needed to travel to the places you need to be, which is why it is so important. With that said, Should the driving age be raised to twenty-one? Some countries allow there citizens to pass out for there drivers license at the age of sixteen, while other countries only allow there citizens to pass out at age eighteen and even twenty-one. So, should the driving age be raised to twenty-one in those countries where it's not, or, should the driving age be at younger ages? What should be the right age to drive?
There are probably many positives that can came from raising the driving age to twenty-one, for example, there should be more responsible people on the road. That in my opinion is very important for the safety of the people on the road. There is only one problem with the statement I just made: responsibility doesn't always come with age, which is probably why I think age twenty-one wouldn't necessarily make roads safer.
How about maybe lowering the age for driving. First of all, I do believe that there are many young kids out there that are responsible and alert enough to drive on the roads, but, that doesn't include all kids. With that said, idea number two wouldn't work.
Now for the most important question. What should be the right age to drive. Well, in my opinion, it's not really about how old you are, or how young you are. You get so many people in this world who are younger but more responsible than others, and that is what it takes, being responsible and making sure that you drive safe.
In the end of the day, it's doesn't necessarily take an older driver to drive safe. It's really only about who you are and who you were. So, should the driving age be raised to twenty-one? Well, that depends on who's driving.
I think that the answer is yes - The society needs to be much more responsible in this topic. Especially because teens want to make impression on their friends so they can drive without thinking. Thanks for sharing this post, @johnny12!

I think the age should be raised. My own child started driving last year and it was a nerve wrecking experience. I also think there should be a limit to the age people are allowed to drive on the roads...too many accidents caused by people that are no longer capable to drive alone.
Too often the oldies are obeying the law, by observing the speed limit. The youth have insufficient patience and must pass, thus causing the accident that is blamed on the oldie.

I think the current practice in most countries works okay. Anyone beyond 18 should be given a temporary license with which they can practice. They should then be rated purely based on their driving skills. In a perfect world this will work just fine.
But problem is anyone will tend to find a way to cheat the system after doing mistakes. With 18-20 year olds this might be even more so, because they would not be earning full time! It is up to system (& infrastructure) to stay up to date and catch such folks red-handed.
The only deterrent to such obnoxious behavior will be high insurance cost for law breakers. I think 18 year onward will be a good time. Anything further will mean younger kids will get into driving illegally i.e. without license & they will end up sitting behind the wheel without any practice!
I have four kids, three of them started driving at 16 (my 15-year old daughter is in her first day of driving training just today. YIKES!) The thing is, they are all different in temperment but all did really well. They worked to pay their own car expenses (insurance, gas, etc.) So, I am happy with the driving age law for the opportunities it offers BUT parents should make the final decision for their child to drive or not. :)
In some countries where there is a younger driving age, it may be because they are rural and a driving license is necessary to go to work.
Here I think the age is still 16, but only until 10 pm. after 2 or 3 years of practice, experience the restriction is removed.
This enables country kids to work in town, go to the work site, during working hours.
