Massive Toy Haul!

in #geeklife3 years ago

No photos yet, but they will be coming. We just bought a 20 foot box truck full of vintage toys. Everything is at least 20+ years old with stuff going back into the 70s.

Some people think luck is how something like this happen, but let me tell you this deal took 3 years of following up with someone to make sure it happened. 3 years! How long are you willing to wait for a seed you planted to turn into something? Think most people would have given up after months, for sure a huge majority would have stopped making casual contact (not sale pitch pressured contact) long before a a year. But over 3 years later this people was finally in a position they wanted to sell everything.

By keeping in touch and not being a high pressure sale person, but rather building the relationship over time to become a trusted resource we landed a buy that will be providing inventory for the store for easily a couple years since there is a ton of items that there are cases full of the same item. This is the type of deal that every store wishes for, but aren't willing to do the work for. It's the "oh you are just lucky" type of score.
